Our upcoming meetings are scheduled for Region IV, Region VI and Region II!
For those of you who are curious, Region Meetings are held annually, prior to the Summer Business Meeting in Denver. The meetings are held in an effort to encourage current ANCW members, new members, and anyone interested in joining our organization to learn more about what we do. It’s a great opportunity for each state affiliate to share what’s happening in their state and how they advocate for the beef community!
Region IV (Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas) | April 21-23 | College Station, TX
The Texas CattleWomen have planned a fabulous region meeting in Bryan, Texas! The George W. Bush Presidential Library features a “Ranching Legacy” Exhibit, available for tours prior to opening registration and a kickoff dinner. Region IV starts off on April 21 with a big Texas welcome from Region Director Debbie Gill and other Texas Cattlewomen, followed by an update from ANCW President-Elect Gwen Geis (WY) and the Region IV business portion. Attendees will also have an educational component and livestock handling demonstration at the Texas A&M University Beef Center, followed by dinner. We hear that the TAMU Prime Rib is World Famous! Before heading home, meeting attendees will finish up any necessary business and have the chance to shop in historic downtown Bryan. Visit TX Cattlewomen to learn more!
Region VI (California, Hawaii, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico) April 27-29 | Elko, NV
Nevada CattleWomen will host the 2017 Region VI meeting in Elko, Nevada. The meeting is full of education, entertainment and fellowship all in the name of “Strategies for Successful Agvocacy.” Before the meeting, attendees are encouraged to take part in the pre-conference Herds & Harvest Workshop to learn about USDA grading, how it affects your eating experience and how to optimize marbling through feeding efficiency techniques. The workshop will be followed by the Herds & Harvest Social—a meet and greet for Region VI membership and attendees. Friday’s schedule kicks off with a welcome from Region Director Pam Griffin (AZ) and local leadership. After an ANCW update, attendees will jump into workshops on social media, guest speakers including the state veterinarian and a presentation from Trent Loos on igniting passion for a purpose. Highlights from Saturday’s events include an Environmental Stewardship tour at Maggie Creek Ranch and a tour of the J.M. Capriola Company. Follow the Nevada Cattlewomen’s Facebook page for more details.
